Hi, I'm Aoife!
(that's pronounced "EE-FAH" for those of you who are not Irish!)
Hi, my name is Aoife McAuliffe and I am a fully qualified Personal Trainer based in Brisbane, Australia.
I'm passionate about all things health and fitness but the thing I truly love teaching people about is nutrition. My methods include sustainable nutrition and resistance-based workouts to help women lose body fat and build lean muscle.
But first, here's a little more about me and my journey to becoming a health and fitness coach...
I was never a sporty or athletic person growing up, unlike my brothers who played team sports all through school. I didn't play for a school team and honestly I didn't even like physical education (mostly because it involved a lot of basketball in my school and I lack the coordination for that!). I dabbled in swimming, a bit of soccer and some cycling but wasn't truly passionate about any of it. Yet, here I am embracing fitness as a lifestyle. Now, how did that happen?
Throughout my early twenties I tried every fitness trend possible in an attempt to "tone up" - from spinning to circuits to CrossFit. I fell in love with strength training when I started CrossFit but still didn't see the results I wanted despite training HARD 6 days a week. I tried clean eating, paleo, high fat low carb and even a sugar detox but none of these were sustainable. Eventually I learned about macros and flexible dieting and was amazed to have visible abs for the first time in my life despite eating more food than ever and including chocolate several times a week and even the odd donut!
